We have had a lovely first week back, we have introduced our new topic for the half term which is 'Aliens' we have started this topic as it matches the phonics screening test which will take place week commencing Monday 10 June
In the test children are asked to read 40 mixed real and pseudo words, the words with aliens next to them being pseudo.
Our first story this topic is Aliens love underpants. In Miss Ghafari's set during literacy we will be recapping all the phonemes learnt in phase 3 and 5 to help boost our phonics as much as possible before the screening. Today we practiced the 'ar' sound making as many words as we could with the sound and decorating some underwear for the aliens!
