Sandon Maths Day!

We had SO much fun for our first Maths House Day yesterday! Take a look at just some of the activities we got up to across the school!

Nursery

As part of our maths challenge day the children played on our mini golf course attempting to hit the ball to the numbered flags. They had so much fun they have asked to play golf again 🏌️‍♀️🏌️‍♂️⛳️

Year 3

We have had lots of fun so far for our Sandon Maths Day, we have battled on TT Rockstars and played games in our teams.

We played odd and even tag and added up our scores when throwing the javelin! Then we had a Kahoot Quiz!

Year 5

We started our maths day with a house challenge, children had to get as close to 80,000 using the numbers 0-9, only once. Addition or subtraction could be used. Broadway clinched it first, but then Grangewood managed to steal the victory with a last minute calculation 💪🏻🥳🎉

Next challenge: Tangrams! This was a mixed bag 😊 with all houses scoring point and earning points. Especially for team work 💪🏻

Our final challenge was to create a giant bar chart using our trainers. Children recorded the data in size, colour and brands. Thank goodness all those trainers were off outside 😅

Year 6

We have had a really fun morning for Maths day. We took part in a Timestables Rockstars battle, had a really exciting assembly, tried to solve some tricky problems and even had time for a game of maths monopoly aka mathopoly!!! 🧮🔢

Really impressive work in your house teams Year 6 with some great sportsmanship too! Well done 👌🏼

In the afternoon the children took part in some physical activities. The first activity saw children use their bodies to make the answer to different number problems. We then had a few times tables races.
